Babs specialises in extracting natural pigments from the landscape, to use for dyeing, Drawing,, Printmaking, and Painting,. Using a locally sourced natural fibres, non-toxic processes and biodegrable tools and materials.
Babs has produced work for clients including the Saatchi Gallery, Tate St Ives, Facebook London, V&A Museum, Hauser + Wirth, Jo Malone, Soho House, Compton Verney and many more.
Copies of her book “Botanical inks” from Quadrille Books will be available to buy and sign in person.
Babs uses plant connection techniques including somatic experiencing, movement, sound, breathwork, dreaming and visioning to deepen her relationship with plants and create rituals for extracting pigments and imbuing cloth and paper with them.
Drawing, shapes from the process of harvesting plants and allow the connection to inspire a movement flowing into intentional mark-making.
