On moving to the South West (Exton), I have found an everlasting source of inspiration for my passion of plein air and studio painting. I am most happy whilst striving to capture the beauty of the Devon Landscapes and ever changing light of nature, focusing on the tonal contrasts on offer. The excitement of the unpredictability of plein air painting is exhilarating as well as challenging and keeps me coming back for more. When not painting in the beautiful outdoors, I disappear into my studio, a space I find so calming and inspiring, and paint to my heart’s content until the end of the day. I am particularly keen on painting seascapes, landscapes and figurative scenes in oils at present. I have accepted many commissions, sold paintings online and through galleries. My paintings have sold in Europe, Canada as well as the UK.
This is my second year of Devon Open Studios which I am very much looking forward to. Even during the pandemic Devon Open Studios last year was a wonderful way to connect with the local Art Community in a safe, distanced manner. It is even more exciting this year when hopefully some semblance of normality may return to the event.
