Devon Open Studios 10 to 25 September

Devon Open Studios is the annual flagship event of Devon Artist Network

For two weeks every September members of the network, potters, artists, jewellery makers, wood workers, needle workers and creatives of every kind, open their doors and invite people in to discover their work and to chat to the artists themselves about their processes and inspiration. Work is also on sale and it can be a perfect opportunity to purchase unique artwork direct from the maker.

Registration opens soon for 2022

The registration portal for this year’s Devon Open Studios is almost ready. If you are an artist and looking for information, then read on. Due to the huge increase in DAN membership since we announced plans for an exciting new members’ website in February, more artists are eligible to take part in Devon Open Studios than ever before. Existing members will get an email as soon as we open the registration portal. In the meantime, we’ve emailed you some guidance notes to help you get ready for registration. Only current DAN members are eligible for Devon Open Studios, so if you have friends and colleagues who are hoping to take part, please ask them to join DAN as soon as possible at

Register Early!
Last year we sadly had to turn down around 20 artists and groups whose registrations reached us after the closing date. Register as early as possible to secure your place.

If you are an art lover looking for a great September full of creative and interesting people and places, then a cornucopia of art will be waiting for you across Devon again this year. Over 200 resident artists and crafts people open their studios to show and sell their individual artworks to the public each September. The diversity of studios is always remarkable; you can explore venues ranging from potter’s studios in meadows to medieval barns, sinuous sculpture gardens or garrets by the sea. These hidden havens reveal fascinating work in every medium that allows the opportunity to purchase affordable art, directly from the artist, and without gallery commission.

Venture out on self guided art tours using our free full colour event guide or just by spontaneously following the yellow arrows scattered about the countryside. Meet the artists, participate in workshops and events, or simply create your own journey of discovery in this most spectacular landscape.
