Devon creatives open their studios every September

The doors might have closed for 2023 but the work goes on. There are commissions to work on, enquiries to follow up, friendships made and stock to be taken at all levels. Another dynamic Devon Open Studios, the largest visual arts event of its kind in Devon, 2023 was a pure celebration of everything creative. Thank you all for the hard work involved in making another piece of pure magic.

The artist studio is a place of inspiration and perspiration, where ideas are generated and expressed. And, for more than two weeks every September, artists and venues across Devon open their doors to welcome visitors to see first hand where and how they work.

Featuring the work of established names alongside new and emerging artists, the breadth and diversity of artists and art forms on show is always testament to the rich seam of creativity that runs deep through Devon.

Every year all studios listed are free to visit, with several artists hosting demonstrations, talks and workshops. From painting to printmaking, pottery, glass, jewellery, sculpture, metal work, furniture making and more — there is always so much to see.
